Log 26, Arenacans. The closer we get to the wall, the more life my party sees. Gradually, more fauna has been appearing; the first of these new creatures that we noticed was the arenacan. The arenacan are medium sized flyers that hunt further into the sun strip. They fly over the dunes waiting for movement, once they see some, they’ll glide along the slope of the dune and shovel up an unlucky creature into their mouth. Similar to the sermi, the arenacan will spew excess sand from its jets. The hunting pattern of this species can be quite hypnotic as they’ll loop back around and try again if they miss their target, other arenacans will even join in to steal the prey for themselves, resulting in a group of them flying up and down dunes in a loop-the-loop.

Don’t forget to mention how annoying they are.

Arenacans don’t factor in sizes when hunting, which results in them swooping down at larger creatures, including us. We’ve had to put up with them snapping at us for a couple of miles, luckily, they seem to be thinning out as we approach the wall.
